Been kinda looking at something to make a 8mm rem mag out of.
I missed two chances to get an actual 8mm rem mag in a rem 700. in the $600 dollar range plus freight and ffl cost. Anyway short story I tripped across a 7mm ultra mag. I was looking at the cases to see if the action would work and discovered they should be interchangeable as far as size, I think. ![]() THEN ! I thought why not go with the ultra mag case and just neck it up to 8mm. Voila, I found this ![]() Sounds WAY easier and larger case volume . Thoughts ?

Good thoughts. the 8mm ultra mag is almost identical to the ancient 8x68mm S which is very popular in Euro. I've hunted with the 8x68 fine rifle.
I have a a 300 RUM based up the 8 rum. must saw it kicks like a moth..! the 8mm rum should do well with 180+ grain bullets. Nice part of this is you need no gunsmithing! just get son a set of dies and go.
