Tikka;

The parent to both is the 7X57 Mauser, so I don't know why it wouldn't be possible.  But, it's sure easier to neck down than expand up.  On the other side though, you're going up .014" & down almost twice that.  Hobson's choice I guess.

I've had best results reforming with new brass.  If you have to use once fired, I'd anneal it first.  Depending on chamber size, sometimes you have to neckturn, necked down brass.  With expanded necks, neck thinning is less of a problem.  I've expanded .243 to .308, when I was out of 308, with no issues.

Are you having trouble finding brass? I really havn't looked, but I have seen some on local store shelves.
