My 257 roberts has been a deer rifle and I usually shoot 120/117 gr bullets for deer.  Will be my deer rifle for next year.

Sort of thinking of going to a smaller bullet, maybe get tighter groups?

I know bullets are in the out of stock class now.  But I have the time for next year.

But interest had me looking thru my catalogs.  Surprise at how few .25 bullets are even in catalog.  Seems .25 has been eaten up by 6.5 rounds.

thinking 87 gr at 31-34oo fps.

I shoot 117 grain Sierra Pro Hunters (flat base) in my .257 Roberts. They have served me well but I have thought the same thing. I would like to try a faster lighter bullet.

That's two guns I'm planning on working on different loads for this summer. I hope I can get them both done.

I like the heavier bullets for the close shots on bigger deer we have here. 117/120 for my 257s/25-06. I do have some 100s, I had a Rem 700 that liked them. I'll see if I have any 87s left, I might have shot them up.
