This maybe a dumb poll, just wondering what kind of experience we have here.

i must qualify my vote by stating that all my experience is with a lee loader, though i do use all the case prepping tools and the lee autoprime as well.

Hey, I use a cheapy lee loader too! They may not be made of gold, but they work well and have made some very good ammo for me so far.

I started out at 12 with a pacific 105 shotshell loader. loaded all my own 20 ga. then at 16 started loading 45 long colts on a home made press. lot of tool and die makers around here. the guy even made a sizer and luber.  got a rcbs jr. still have it today and thats all i use. i have picked up many peices. stared to make my own bullets for .357 at 18. while all my friends were sitten in the bar i was home loading. i use to clean all my brass by hand with brasso till i got a vibrating polisher. made alot of noise. i loaded up everything from .223-444s nothing wrong with the lee stuff. im with dan cant beat the lee collet dies.  i have got my 2 oldest loading there own. i have 3 mec 650s . 2 12 ga and a 20. when i started you could buy a can of al 7 for 3 bucks and a bag of shot was $4.00.  time have changed.

I've been loading my own stuff for around 15 years. Been doing my best work with Lee brand stuff so far. I like it and will continue to use it as long as I get the "down range" results.

So far I've loaded for the following cartridges: Pistol: .32ACP, .38 ACP, .38 Super, .38 Spl, .357 Mag, 9mm, .40 S&W, 10mm, .41 Mag, .44 Mag, .45 ACP, .45 Auto Rim, .455 Colt/Eley/Webley. Rifle: 6.5x55mm, 7mm-08, .308, .30-30. .30-06, .300 Win Mag, .45-70.

Future plans include[have dies for]: .264 Win Mag, .270 Win, 7x57mm Mauser.

Regards, Marcus.

I started out with a Lee Loader for the 30-06 in 1963. Added one for my 308 Norma Mag a year later. Shot some mighty fine groups with ammo loaded with those kits. Bought a "Bair" C press and dies that same year. Never looked back. I hardly ever shoot factory ammo and if I do, I usually am using it for comparison purposes, or to get the brass. I have a RCBS Rockchucker in one end of my reloading bench and a Bonanza Co-Ax on the other end. Die sets now number above 40, mostly RCBS, but a couple of Bonanzas and a couple of Reddings plus one Hornady New Dimension. I just bought a Lee Collet die, and have not used it as yet, so no comment so far.  Regards, Eagleye

Been loading for almost 25 years. Started out loading .38 Special and .357 Magnum
for a Ruger Security-Six. I knew that if I shoot factory I would never be able to afford
to shoot as much as I wanted. Just kind of snowballed after that.
Now I load about 15 handgun calibers, from .32ACP to .45 ACP. Load about 20 rifle calibers,
from .223 to 577/450 Martini-Henry.
Started with an RCBS Jr. press, added a Lee Turret press, and finally upgraded
to a Dillon 550B. It loads faster, not better. Still do load development and small quantities
on the Lee.
Dies are a mixture of Lee, RCBS, and Lyman.

Fella's;

Started on an RCBS Jr. that I still have.  Now use a Dillon 550B also.  If you shoot much pistol, that progressive press is the only way to go.  I've been doing it for around 30 years now.

I am personally new at reloading less than three years but Papa has been doing it for years maks his own bullets etc 45 -70,  454, and 50 cal. He does all black powder.

I reload 243, 30-30, and 30-06.

Both of us use Lee tooling with a variety of other name brand equipment.

Have the equpment for shotgun but find shells cheaper than I can reload.

Anyway I think reloading rounds out the sport. Makes the sport more meaningful. Price allows us to shoot more.

Tinkered with it before I left for school back in '88.  Nothing through those studying years.  Started up again in '93 when I returned home.  Been going hard and heavy since.

RCBS is pretty much all I've used.  >>  klallen

Never did load till I started out talking to folks at shooters thats where I got my start.

Momma started me out with a Lee Anniversary Kit for CHRISTmas and I never did like the scale or the powder thrower, sold those to a heck of a nice guy and replaced them with a Lyman powder thrower and an RCBS scale now I'm cooking with W760.

Started with an RCBS, Jr back in 1968. About 6 - 8 years back added a Rock Chucker. Load for 9mm and 10mm Auto; 220 Swift, 243 Win, 7-08 Rem, 7mm Rem Mag, 308 Win, 338-06 AI, and 375 Whelen Imp. No, I didn't forget the 30-06, but I use those cases and 35 Whelen cases for the latter wildcats. I have good accurate hunting loads for all so far except for 7-08.

The father of my best friend made me a 12 gauge hand loader very similar to a Lee Loader. This was in 1962 and in May of 1963 I bought my first Lee Loader for .30-06. Went on to use and purchase Lee Loaders until I enlisted. Now I own mostly gear from RCBS, Redding and some Lee products. Reloading is like taking drugs, the more you have the more you want. Lawdog

I've been reloading since 1969. While I don't have one of everything yet, there aren't many gadgets I'm missing. I enjoy loading, and anything that makes it easier, faster, or more accurate, I'm taking a strong look at it.

Mr. Mom - Unless you will be shooting .38 Sp. class loads, or using a jacket, the swage lead will be too soft, and lead a bore. I don't know nothing about shooting them jacketed things.
