reloading experience

This maybe a dumb poll, just wondering what kind of experience we have here.

Hey, I use a cheapy lee loader too! They may not be made of gold, but they work well and have made some very good ammo for me so far.

  I started out at 12 with a pacific 105 shotshell loader. loaded all my own 20 ga. then at 16 started loading 45 long colts on a home made press. lot of tool and die makers around here. the guy even made a sizer and luber.  got a rcbs jr. still have it today and thats all i use. i have picked up many peices. stared to make my own bullets for .357 at 18. while all my friends were sitten in the bar i was home loading. i use to clean all my brass by hand with brasso till i got a vibrating polisher. made alot of noise. i loaded up everything from .223-444s nothing wrong with the lee stuff. im with dan cant beat the lee collet dies.  i have got my 2 oldest loading there own. i have 3 mec 650s . 2 12 ga and a 20. when i started you could buy a can of al 7 for 3 bucks and a bag of shot was $4.00.  time have changed.

I started out with a Lee Loader for the 30-06 in 1963. Added one for my 308 Norma Mag a year later. Shot some mighty fine groups with ammo loaded with those kits. Bought a "Bair" C press and dies that same year. Never looked back. I hardly ever shoot factory ammo and if I do, I usually am using it for comparison purposes, or to get the brass. I have a RCBS Rockchucker in one end of my reloading bench and a Bonanza Co-Ax on the other end. Die sets now number above 40, mostly RCBS, but a couple of Bonanzas and a couple of Reddings plus one Hornady New Dimension. I just bought a Lee Collet die, and have not used it as yet, so no comment so far.  Regards, Eagleye

Started on an RCBS Jr. that I still have.  Now use a Dillon 550B also.  If you shoot much pistol, that progressive press is the only way to go.  I've been doing it for around 30 years now.

   Been loadin far as i can guess about 23 years I also started with lee. A little Hand press. Then I Got a dillon 550B it is still on my bench But I don't use it much.  ( if any body wants it I mights trade Don't know what for but incase you haden,t notice I kida like guns)I also have a little rcbs partner press and the one I use most is my Rock chucker. I am on my 2nd lee auto prime Can't even guess how many primmers I have seated with it. I curantly load for 7mm08 2 308s 30,06 4570 7mmstw and .338 win. mag Have dies for probably 8 to ten other cartridges and 5 or 6 pistol rounds. Itys a good hobby . Some times I think its a waste of time when I see the guys I hunt with,That really don't know much about there rifles , or cartridges usualy don't know what weight  load there shooting but still don't ever see to miss !

 Never did load till I started out talking to folks at shooters thats where I got my start.

  Momma started me out with a Lee Anniversary Kit for CHRISTmas and I never did like the scale or the powder thrower,sold those to a heck of a nice guy and replaced them with a Lyman powder thrower and an RCBS scale now I'm cooking with W760.

The father of my best friend made me a 12 gauge hand loader very similar to a Lee Loader. This was in 1962 and in May of 1963 I bought my first Lee Loader for .30-06. Went on to use and purchase Lee Loaders until I enlisted. Now I own mostly gear from RCBS, Redding and some Lee products. Reloading is like taking drugs, the more you have the more you want. Lawdog

 hey any of you guys ever get into swedging bullets??? ive always wanted to try that.

Mr. Mom - Unless you will be shooting .38 Sp. class loads, or using a jacket, the swage lead will be too soft, and lead a bore. I don't know nothing about shooting them jacketed things.
