Rain gun

   My hunting opportunities for whitetail mean two states and all seasons, archer, BP, rifle, shotgun, and flintlock.  And as would be expected, different equipment for each  (stands/blinds, guns).
Over the years i have different favorite rifles for each season.

But I really don't have a heavy rain rifle.  Partially, I hate hunting big game in the rain (ducks, geese  OK).  so, my walnut stocked rifles work, as I only hunt in light showers intermittent rain storms.  Or I hunt in an enclosed blind.

But, always needing and excuse to buy something new, been thinking of a "RAIN RIFLE"  probably plastic stock, for whitetail.

Do any of you guys have a dedicated Rain Rifle???  what kind?

	YUP, Bear rain sucks. For ducks I used an 870 but after a few years the cheep laminated plywood stock actually started to delaminate. I found a plastic stock with a pistol grip that I made fit and got a plastic Pump slide. After a full day in the muck I come home and spray it all down with WD-40, run the bore snake through it a few times and blow the oil out and off with my air compressor. My Stoeger is all wrapped and plastic. I use wd, air and bore snake on it too. All my rifles are plastic too same actions on them. All my guns are a tool, and are used till they need replacements.
