Are they cool? Yes
Are they powerful? Yes
Well they save the world? NO
A side from the fact we will have to produce more electricity Generated by probably more fossil fuel or nuclear, Making the price sky rocket.
Just think of the jobs displaced...
Not just in the oil/gas field but What about all the junk yards, and used car market.
The value of a used spent "E" car is little. The replacement batteries is over the price of a used car.
All the people that cant buy a new car every 5 years won't be able to go to work, more welfare.
Then you will have to PAY to get rid of your car.
adding a 1000 pound of extremally toxic lithium ion in to the environment.
We out here will have to go back to horse power if you live over 300 miles from a charge station, most places Montana.
BAM more green house gasses.
NEVER REPLACE internal combustion till we can use nuclear fusion in small reactors.Confused

A big 10-4  on that, D

Just look what happened with Russia today.  Within 6 months we will be paying $5+ for a gallon of gas, and inflation will be in the 10% to 20% range, or more.  The recession will begin soon.Unhappy

I totally agree D.

I don't see the point of electric cars. I have seen quite a few pictures taken in Las Angeles in the 70's. The smog was really thick. I've also seen pictures taken recently in Las Angeles and it looks like theirs no smog at all. I'm sure their is a lot more cars on the road now than their was in the 70's. They've come a long way with the internal combustion engine.

What are they going to have to do to the electric grid to make it handle everyone plugging in their cars at 6:00 every night when they get home from work? Are wind mills and solar panels going to keep up?

'Cides that, I live in an area that relies on coal and oil and gas to keep our economy going.

D,
Any current bushes near any of your coyote areas or dog towns that could charge your EV battery while you are shooting?

The easy solution for LONG RANGE with a EV car is to have a portable gas powered 9K watt generator in the trunk hooked up to the EV battery and charge the battery as you drive!Wink
