Bought my grandson one, a compact right-hand in 7mm08,was really not expecting much. With 110 Barnes bullets, it shoots the lights out.

Tikka;

Wouldn't that be pretty much a varmint load? Have you
found, or looked for, a 130 - 140 grain load?

I use 139gr Hornady bullets in my 7mm-08's for deer.
I like the LH Ruger American....mine is in .223Rem. Makes a nice compact "truck" gun...CDNN sale prices are good too and they offer M77 Rugers in LH bolts in same ad....several calibers.

Fella's;

Hmmmm, I'm currently using a Ruger 10/22 takedown as my
truck gun, but these LH Americans have got me thinking. Of
course around here I can just throw in whatever I want to &
that's not hard, so no real need for one either. I'll
probably dither till the deal's over anyway.

With those Barnes bullets it pretty effective on deer as well . My grandson took his first buck with this load. The buck took 2 steps and fell dead.

This is an older thread, but a good one...nice to hear CB pipe in.

That American LH is a real bonus for the handicaped, a good rifle.  And since this post was made, they have come down in price even more.  every leftie should have at least one (243win ?).
