For the last 50 years I've been fishing for muskies.  I'm a troller and us heavy saltwater reels and rods.

I've bought 100s of lures over the years, but none out fished the Creek Chub Pikie Minnow.  The originals were wood and the jointed ones worked excellent.

Before they fanished I stocked up on the wooden ones in my favorite colors.  yesterday, caught a muskie on one of my last remaining stash.  He totally destroyed my lure; shattered the wood and cracked it into pieces.

Most of todays muskie lures are made for casting.  With age, RA and hand surgeries; casting heavy lures all day isn't an option.

The Creek Chub Pikie has the world record catch for muskies....someone must be copying it  IN PLASTIC.  Any thoughts on were I could buy some?  (4.5"  jointed deep bill)

You can help save salmon and get paid to do it by going fishing! The Pikeminnow Sport Reward Fishery Program, funded by the Bonneville Power Administration and administered by the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, pays anglers for each Northern Pikeminnow that they catch that is nine inches or larger. Rewards range from $5 to $8 per fish, and special tagged fish are worth $500.http://www.pikeminnow.org/background/save-a-salmon-and-make-money-doing-it

I'm not a real big fisherman, but here's some. I'm not sure what a good price is but theirs some from between $5-$10 plus shipping.

thanks wing.  those are antique lures, cedar wood.  That is the type that the muskie ate, broke in two.  I have some of those hanging on my wall.  beautifule and lts of memories.  But the wood dries out and a big fish can crush those old wooden ones.

Vintage Creek Chub Jointed Huskie Pikie Minnow Antique Fishing Lure JJ14

This is the exact lure my muskie crushed.  He hit it right behind the eye, teeth marks are on the lure still.  As he fought the two rear hooks were in his mouth.  As he fought and twisted the rear wooden part cracked in two releasing the front from the back.  I got the front and he got 2 hooks, and som wood fibers.

Those are decent prices for collectors.  Olde time fishermen like me, use to collect them and a good one often went for $100.  But olf fishermen are disappearing.

thanks for the thought abd the post.
