The "VIN" number specialist called me today.
She said with the holiday she is all jammed up, but if I can make it to the DMV at 3:30 she will observe the installation of the VIN tab and sign off. I pick up the GD at three on the other side of town. I'll have to have the dog loaded up and take it with me to get her. After this I need an officer to sign off that it is really on the unit. That will make 4 inspections BEFORE getting it registered. Crazy or what?

Just a thought.
It looks super. But you are still in the Beta teast phase. You have some time, now. Might want to fit a set of dolly wheels (wheelbarrow wheels with pipe axle to the unit. So should you break down far from the truck...you could tow it back with a ATV. Just thoughts

Well Dang.
I got a VIN#. NOW I'm attempting to get an appointment for a VIN inspection. I had to go to the local DMV license services to get a Phone # to get and appointment set up. I called the number, I get a recording I leave my name and call back # , the recording said it my take 48 hours to get back to schedule an appointment. They have to watch me affix the vin# ,with my own tools, to the dog then sign off a form. Then I have to have it inspected again by any law enforcement officer. With there form I then have to go to the County treasurer and apply for a title, there is always a Fee for each step... But I two steps along the road to being a Registered vehicle.

I used a spray gun for the base gray and rattle can the highlights.
I made my own templates for the tracks and coyote pic. If I could find a rubber track the right width and length with 11" cogs.

Very neat paint job & scheme. Nice touch with with coyote pics & tracks. I have same brand battery in lawnmowers. Did you use "rattle can" paint?
If you get jammed up over cleated track with authorities Could U replace with all rubber track???

I finished all my little projects on the dog I wanted to finish before the Pre inspection to get a vin # then a final inspection if all goes as planned.
I have some stuff to do in the AM on Monday then I'll take the dog to the police station with the first round of paper work and see if they have the "time" do it. I put it on a trailer so I do not have to put it all together for them to look at it. I now have Brakes. Brake lights. All the time forward facing head lights. All the time rear facing tail lights. A 84 decibel electric horn. I can use hand signals for turns. I'm old enough not to need a helmet. No seat belts or air bags. Wish we luck.  |
