For 45 years I've been going to Sicilian family picknic each summer.  Lots of people and lots of food.

So I take family drinks, 12 beers/12 water/12 pop  in a medium size  ice chest (lugging it).

Well this year I'm at my cabin without a chest, so bought a new one with WHEELS, no more lugging from car to grove.

Problem is all Wally-worl had were dark gray.  I left it outside for 4 hours and it was so hot I couldn't touch it.

So back to Wally....spray can of white rustolem.  It s now white and sitting in the bright sun is hardly warm.

I've been painting my ice chest white for 20 years.  Why don't they all just come WHITE?

My white painted gaame cooler last twice as long as they did when green.

I try to get white ones too. The only time I've seen much difference, is when you can't get cooler in shade. I wonder, if you could take it a step further, bright steel finish, like the old style coolers, with modern insulation? In the boat, I usually lay towel over cooler and seat cushion or two on top.

I don't think it is the reflective quality of the paint as much as the color white reflect "Heat" much better the Aluminum color, I think.

I've also made a "swamp cooler" out of it by wetting a white towel and laying it across the cooler.  Evaporation does chill it somewhat.

it's a given....dark colors absorb heat and white or lighter colors reflect heat. Most of my coolers have white tops/cover and dark colored lower area. Most of the really expensive coolers ARE WHITE all over.

No bumper sticker for your cooler Bear but...Wingmaster, I did meet "Uncle" Ted Nugent & his bride at a NRA Convention..got him to autograph a book he wrote...he is a board member and played his electric guitar for the Natl Anthem at the opening of the event. No singing just that really LOUD electric guitar banging out the notes to the song. Thumbs Up

While it's nice to have support and $$$$$, from Ted Nugent and Kid Rock, I'm not sure, how much they advance NRA's goal, for main stream support.

Image is the most important thing in influencing people.

People believe/like people that have the 'right' image.  what image is that?  Well it varies from person to person...but often people only like people that 'appear' to be like them.

Ted doesn't look or sound like a main stream guy.  So as Robert said, he is a distracting influence.  That is why I never have voted for him as a director.

We might want to thing that we judge people by what they say and what they do, and what they say.  Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

Interesting, the NRA is still getting low social member 'Grumbling' along with the liberal anti's, for W. Wayne LaPierre.  buying expensive suit on the NRA budget.  Really stupid.  Wayne IS THE face of NRA.  And our ad agency specifically told him to do so.  Appearance is everything.

Appearance is the main reason that blacks have never been able to gain acceptance and 'blend' into American culture.  They can't change their appearance.   Irish, Italian, eastern Europeans, jews have been able to change in dress and names; and appear as just Americans to gain acceptaance and blend in.

Asians and blacks don't have it that easy.

Off, topic again.  So back to Ted, he helps NRA best 'back stage'.

Publicly shots, like this, don't make soccer moms feel guns are OK.

The fact that, abuses fact, that he's "sheriff", so he has access to LEO only weapons, don't help either.

Maybe NRA could reach more diverse audience, with more music "role" models.

I agree with most everything Ted says. I also understand that most soccer moms don't.

I have always liked his music. He's not much of a singer, but he is a good guitar player.

By the way, Ted gave me that bumper sticker himself. He gave it to me when I met him backstage at a concert in Sheridan Wyoming in 2014. I still have a few of them.
