Clap
We have had a bad time with Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease  . But we found a pocket that has not been affected. So we shot them...

We were calling coyotes. no dogs but a bunch of cottontail.
Should be good eating. Going to cut off the legs and fry them with buffalo breading and spice, Like hot wings.

D,
I love rabbit meat.  When I was in grade school  I had to walk about a mile each way.  I would set snares in select spots in the alley's and on the way home bring  cottontail rabbits that my mom would cook.  Later as I was older I hunted them with my 2 beagles.  Great memories and good eating.

Nothing better than bunny hunting with a pack of beagles.  love those circular routes thru goldenrod fields.

My nose started running just thinking of that......

Nothing like bunnies and birdies for a fun day of shooting with the family. My best memories.

I suppose a beagle could double as a coyote attracter too. Just hook up some kind of a shock thing and stake it out by the call.Clap

Unfortunately, in my state, live animals can not be used for coyote baits.  I had wanted to use a large white leghorn chicken and stake it out for bait while i called.  Never letting it get attacked, figure I'd keep him behind the house for 2-3 years as a pet.  not legal, so we ate him!

Same here, that's why you let the coyote kill it first before you shoot.
