My boy got some 8's loaded with the load we settled on .
RL 26 200 gr Barnes, 3100+. Going to try and get it sighted in and proofed, this weekend. Point blank for this is like 240 yards on an 8" kill zone. That puts me in at 3" at 100 and 3" low at 300 yards. If I can I'll shoot it at 350,400 and 500 to see where it's at. 500 Is a LONG ways to shoot, and walk to see if and where you Hit. Out where I shoot there are a lot of coulees and drainage's to go up and down in 500 yards. I may test shoot it on some stubble fields to keep out of the coulees. I don't like paper work... I'm also going to check the zero on my daughters 243. I used to use it before the 6mm and have 500 shells loaded and no longer use it. I think it would be a good P Dog shoot gun this year to use up some shells. |
