Good for PA muzzleloading, and also good in the regular rifle deer season.

I like the flintlocks, more challenge

Considered in-line. Was thinking maybe for bear though. Wonder how it would do with 500 gr. JHP and four pellets pushing it. That butt plate looks like it would be a bit uncomfortable.

Never thought of BP guns as having enough recoil that a metam buttplate made a difference.

I shoot a 58 cal with a 500 grain bullet, no recoil compared to a 243.
