just wondering who owns a battle rifle, prior to Korean war.  open sights in generally issue condition????????????

1893 mauser, '97, 98 mauser, Krag, '03, '03A3, p17 enfield,SMLE, Mosen, M1, M1 carbine, to name a few.

do you shoot them?

98 Mauser in 6.5 swede, Mosin, original. 03-A3 1941 early production in a sporter stock. Swede gets shot a bit, others are in the safe.

My safe has a Krag, '03, '03A3 ,  mosin, 30 Carbine.  and a Zouave., shot Magazine Lee Enfield.  wish I'd have kept a SMLE...at $7 they were a great rifle.

Nothing wrong with a carbine. Better balance and swing then a long barreled beanfield gun. With modern propellants and projectiles, they are better and more accurate then the long guns. They get my vote.

Years ago I had several. I only have one left. It's an Eddystone Model of 1917. More commonly known as a P-17 Enfield. I kept it because it's in great condition and it also has a bayonet that looks like it was never issued. 

Probably my favorite one was a 96 Swede. It shot really good and was in very good condition. I wish I would never have let that one go.
