I have quite a few of each, there are many grades of plastic stocks, none of them feel like wood. Plywood (laminate) stock vary, but most are heavier than wood or plastic, some makers lighten them up, by boring holes in butt and venting forearm, they're still clunky feeling, but shoot pretty good.
A good walnut stock, properly fit through the wrist and forearm, without an overdone "Monte Carlo" cheek piece, just feels more lively and right. |

I'm not a big fan of the looks of a Monte Carlo stock but they do fit good. They also get my eye behind the scope better.
