Black bears are more likely to be conditioned, to view people as food source and because more of them, live in proximity of people. This mainly because they're being fed, either intentionally or by raiding pet or livestock feed or garbage, bird feeders and such.

Where there are more grizzly (brown bears in Alaska) around people and towns, they can/will also view people as food source. That's what park bears do and why they concentrate, on removing food sources, like feeding the bears or leaving something for them to eat. Many times people have been partially eaten, in bear attacks, either by fed bears (camp robbers, following hunters for gut piles or wounded game, or getting into feed supplies) or ones hanging around towns raiding garbage and feed.

Far more grizzly, attacks are defensive, as they're less likely to sneak off from contact, than black bear.

The biologists forgot to tell the bears. Grizzly (brown) or Polar bears have been eating natives for a long time, that's why many natives call them brother, because they believe spirits, stuck in between worlds, live on in them. It's also bad to kill Ravens, because many believe spirits are carried, to heaven by them.

It's only libs that taste bad. If they eat one, they have to lick their ass for a week to get rid of the taste

Also, a safety tip about bears. If you encounter an angry bear, play dead. It will be good practice for what happens seconds later.

Wyoming Grizzly Bear Notice:
In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear
conflicts, the Montana Department of Fish and Game
is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra
precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.
We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on
their clothing so as not to startle the bears that aren't
expecting them. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry
pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a
bear.

It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear
activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference
between black bear and grizzly bear poop. Black bear poop
is smaller and contains a lot of berry seeds and squirrel fur.
Grizzly bear poop has little bells in it and smells like pepper
spray.
This is also true in Montana.

My Daughter works for company that handles reservations, in and around Glacier Park. They used to get first aid calls all the time, people read the label "bear repellent" and spray themselves, like mosquito repellent. Most brand's labels, now say "bear deterrent" to avoid this. Car rental company, she works with, get rentals returned with bear spray, all over interior, people set bear spray on dash and forget it. After few hours in sun, it doesn't explode as much as gush, pepper spray and dye everywhere.
