The bear and I , aka d4570 Slipped out before the rest arrived and I do mean "SLIPPED".

We got the first in official gopher of the hunt. We where actually out trying to call some coyote, but a gopher that get up and starts flipping his tail at you in a parking lot just HAS to be shot...
We had two coyotes come to the call but never let us get a shot. We did however have coyotes calling back at every set we did.
Montana weather this time of year is like a wicked old lady beating you over the head. It really does not hurt but makes you very uncomfortable and you can't do anything about it...
Day one of the Mygawds was "uncomfortable" at times but very shootable.

We killed a few then lunch at the Badger café.
Day two started out fine and kept getting better .

I had to leave to attend my daughters birthday calibration.
The other guys will have to fill in some blanks ...

D

Fella's;

An addendum: After dinner at the Maple Garden on
Saturday night, it was decided to go to the Sip-N-Dip for
an after dinner drink. The S-N-D is a nationally known
bar primarily because of the mermaids. You see, the back
bar is not a mirror, no, it's the glass wall of the pool.
And the bar is on the second floor of the establishment!
This place has been in existence since the O'Hare Motor
Inn was built in the 50's and has hosted Daryl Hannah
reprising her mermaid role in "Splash", the movie, in the
Sip-N-Dip pool. The pool wall is now clear, but something
other than glass methinks, since an epic failure sometime
in the distant past.

When we entered, the place while not as crowded as I've
ever seen it, was indeed packed. After some few minutes,
we were able to obtain a table in the nether depths, as
it were, but out of sight of the entertainment, ie., the
mermaids. So, one drink and we left. Furthermore, I
vigorously deny that the Sip-N-Dip experience had
anything to do with Wing's epic faux pas Sunday morning.

hey D...thanks for the report and pictures...not quite
like being there but neat to see you folks having a
great time.
Bear good to see you have been converted to the bolt gun
squad....beaware tho U may need a good
attorney....Blonde may be filing D-I-V-O-R-C-E papers
soon
Sounds like the crew had a great time in spite of the
Montana weather getting in a few licks.
Hope to make it back next year.

One interesting 'technique' was used by one of our
senior members. We call it "shoot of at least three
feet" then stalk in close for the coup de gras.
