I inherited some fmj bullets from my father-in-law. I have not put a caliper on them yet, but I assume (***-u-me) that they are for a 9mm. I do not load for 9mm, but I do for .38.
What sort of accuracy could I expect from them at 15 yards? |

I'd give them a try, might work ok, wouldn't hurt anything. Being for 9, they most likely wouldn't have cannalure, to roll crimp into, but taper crimp should work at 38sp levels. I'd use fairly fast powder, give them best chance to swag up.

Most 9mm are .355
Most .38's are .358 or lead .359 DD |

Stinky;
Yup, what they all said. Remember the Ruger convertible blackhawk? One of the versions, and probably the most common by a wide margin, was the .357/9mm with two cylinders. Put in the 9mm cylinder & fire away, the small amount of difference in the diameter of the bullets made no operating difference. I can't speak to accuracy but I'm sure somewhere on the net somebody's taken one, done that, and reported on it. 900F |
