Anyone got any kind of load for 2 1/2 12 gauge load info ?
I got a bunch ( two hundred ) of NEW 2 1/2 " Rio hulls with Rio primers and a 8 pound keg of green dot for $10. Now all I need is some kind of load info for what kind of wads.
I don't know what I'll be loading to shoot with them but at $10 I need to do something, Doves, Rabbits or just tin cans... d

Wow! $20 worth of hulls and nearly $200 worth of powder for $10? I
would be more interested in how to use the powder.

I have a BP shot gun with a 2 1/2" chamber. If I use paper hulls I can
use 2 3/4" hulls.

7/8 OZ is recommended. If you go less it's hard to keep enough
pressure. I use a 20ga card in the bottom of the wad to take up some
space. Another load i use is cut the piston off of Cheddite wads
leaving the shot cup and crimp over a .69 cal lead ball. Devastating
and accurate out to 40 yards. I'm using Pyrodex so I'm not worried
about pressures.

My Alliant book says 20-22 gr of GreenDot in a 2 3/4 with a Rem wad
7/8oz.

DD

Green Dot is a good powder but really too slow for these shells.
Red Dot would be better.

Endeavor to persevere.
