Fella's;

I've got a generic Belgium/Spain SXS double gun on the bench at this time.  It's marked "Central Arms, St. Louis Mo.", but that's not who made it of course.  I'd like to find a schematic for the beast before removing the main spring.  Anybody out there got a clue as to where I can get some information?

Lots of these made, usually box locks with double triggers.  Imported they were often sold under names like Churchill, Kasnar, Ted Williams, Kabala, H&R, Weatherby, Marlin, Western Auto, etc.  including some large hardwear store names

They were all made almost exactly the same and parts were interchangable with some slight fitting, including stocks.  I believe these were very decent quality, not quite as good as Italian double but good.  I have a few of the spanish and a few of the Italian for over 40 years with lots of filed use.

Actual manufactures in the 1960-90 were names like  Aguirre y Aranzabal (AyA), Arrieta y Cia, Pedro Arrizabalaga, Armas Garbi, and Grulla Armas.  but except for AYA I seldom remember that actual manufacturers name on the weapon.  The proof marks usually on the bottom of the barrels often show manuf.  such a "AYA".

I believe that any spanish double diagram will be close to exactly wht your need.  If you can't find one on line, let me know and i probably have one in my 'smith library.

Missed you reference to Belgium.  Since the 1930 when Browning started the Superposed model the Belgium guns are better quality than the Italian or Spanish.  Brownings were made by FN in Leige Belgium.  The country of manufacturer MUST be spamped on the weapon, to be imported into the US, look on the bottom of barrels.  Over the years I've not seen and SBS  Belgium guns in the US, but there were some.  Brownings SBS doubles wre made in Japan.

Fella's;

Shotties are not in my major area of interest & I'm kinda dumb about 'em.  But, on the bottom of the barrels is a capitol F enclosed in a circle.  Immediately to the right are NL.  There is another proof mark on the bottom of the pivot lug, but it's pretty much illegible.  On the forearm retainer lug is a capitol S above an X.

I tried Numrich right off, but they want a manufacturer first & I don't know that.  Just guessing, but I think this is a 30's - 50's gun.  The right barrel is marked:  Selected Forged Steel.  The left barrel is marked:  Proof Tested 12 gauge above -2 3/4 Inch Chamber-.

Spanish proof marks started in 1927  and each year was alphebetical.  So an F could indicate a proof done in 1932-33 depending how they counted.  Does that sound/look close when viewing the shotgun?
