Public rifle rangesthought we might list some of the "public" rifle ranges around to shot at.  Being in Pennsylvania  we have plenty of rifle ranges, most are private low cost 'sportsmen's clubs.  I've got 5 private clubs and one Public range within 5 miles of my home.

Here are some of the Pennsylvania  Public Ranges, open to the public and free if you have a hunting license or $30 for a year pass.

Where can you shoot in your state???

We Have the Gillette Gun Club. It's a public range. $50 a year membership. Membership is good for the family.   The rifle range goes out to 200 yards.

The Range 307. It's an indoor range. It's $20 per day or something like $100 for a year membership.

Mac's Gun Works. The Gunsmith that built my Swede. The thing I like about this range is he has Steel plates out to one mile. $5 a day

T&T Guns and ammo. This range only goes out to 100 yards. The thing about this range is the people that own it are as close to the nicest people as I have ever met. A real family business.

IBD

I shoot a lot more in the wide open spaces of Wyoming than I do at a range.

It's just that the benches are nicer at the range.

Wing, you are right on the benches part at most ranges. Gotta bring yer own in the wide open ranges.
I have a really good portable shooting bench shown in this link

Very stable, well built, 360* ability and heavy at 65lbs per the literature. Read the spec's in link.
I Learned about the "Stable Table" from some friends in MT who use it for gophers & P'dogs. Check it out.

Here we have outlawed most open public land ranges.

No surprise, a few spoil it for all; leaving broken glass, cans, paper, cases, cartridge boxes everywhere.

Funny how folks think a dozer road cut is a good place to shoot and dump garbage!

fished again yesterday, 10 nice trout on flies, put them back in healthy.  fish 4 fun.

On the way home stopped at a wide spot on a country road to get a bottle of water; also saw and picked up 8 beverage cand and one deoderant bottle throw by some citizen in a wide spot along the road....slobs!

Any place with in a 200 yard area from a parking spot on any river in MT. Often I pick up a black garbage bag full of crap.
Pisses me off big time. A lot of time they toss it on the ground NEXT to a garbage can ???????????
One day I'll see some one doing it , fallow them home and take a big SHIT on there porch , knock on the door and moon them to see there face !!!!!!!!!!Angry

I believe MT still has fine split, for turning in litterer, used to be 50/50, might have dropped to 10%. I know they still have, litter while hunting or fishing and lose license, for up to three years. I'm not sure if that applies to target shooters, but I'm thinking it may. Take a pic/video and turn them in.

Those litterer's you all speak of must have relatives near here tooUnhappy......sometimes I have poked around when it looks like someone dumped anything with an address on it....like magazines or envelopes etc. and then call authorities (sheriff or game warden) with that info....always get a thank you for calling but never for sure know if any agency ever actually follows up on it. Most likely too small of a issue for them maybe. I wonder why....if they can haul a can or wrapper etc to that spot or in case of a shooting place targets of any nature why can't they take it back when done?????  I understand when one finds a TV set or furniture or appliance dumped in the forest that it was Planned. A--holes!

They do the same here too. One state section south of town was closed to recreational shooting a couple years ago.

That was after at least 3 that I know of times a group of people got together and cleaned it up.

It pisses me off to no end.
