There kinda like a casket from your parka to tour face mask. But most of them make my glasses fog and feel like I'm choking.
I can do that shooting coyotes my self , don't need a Gaiter doing it for me. I looked around in town and found a White silk Neckerchief That's about 36" sq. Works great so far. I can pull it up to my nose or use it lose around my neck. I think it is just what I have been looking for. I guess them old cowboys knew what they where doing. Silk is like wool only soft, just cant beat natural fibers. PS I have several sets of Longie's made of silk and some of wool, WONDERFUL. |

One of the joys of wearing glasses. I used to wear contacts hunting to avoid that, but in real cold and wind, they dry out too much.
Try a silk turtle neck base layer, with silk kerchief as final layer. I've tried prescription, anti-fog ski googles, they help enough to justify cost. Anti-fog sprays never did it, too much glare and distorted view. |

I work in -10 most of the year, so here it goes. A good fleece with a collar that zips to the top and a good fleece hoodie. T-shirt and a good long tailed thermal shirt underneath. A light windbreaker over the top and you'll be sweating in no time. As for the Contacts....Oakley M-frames for the sun, and just a good set of wrap around safety glasses,(Bearclaw), for lowlight conditions. Sitting in the cold is a whole different scenario. Layers of silk and a good buffalo woman helps!

D4570: When I head out Coyote Hunting in the dead of
winter I make sure to bring along my military surplus knit wool muffler/scarves! These things keep in the heat and keep the wind from cooling ones neck and chest. I have bought literally a hundred of them in the last 30 years - I give them to children for skiing and sledding and to ill equipped Hunters when a cold snap occurs. I also use them while ice fishing and no ice house is available. I used to buy them around Fort Lewis, Washington for a dollar but now they are up to about two dollars apiece. They are knit wool olive drab in color and in a round tube shape and about 3 feet long. Goes around my neck twice and a little more or just wrap around once and let dangle down inside the coat. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy |

About 45 years ago, when skiing in Canada, I bought
dickie. works for my neck and upper chest, very soft. Can roll it up or roll it down sort of like a temperature control. Wore it every day when 'ote hunting in the refrigerator last week. |
