I have had one for several years. I have allways loaded it to Springfield laods per my Hornaday book. My thinking was the breach break style of rifle may not hold up to higher powered loads like the 1886, or Ruger #1 sections of the book.
But lately I have been told by two different guys that the H&R Handi Rifles will indeed hold up to the higher pressure loads.
I have asked this question of the factory, but never gotten a responce. I know there are several gun smiths on this sight, and was wondering. Would it be safeto jump up to 1886 section of the book? I only ask because now my brother digger has bought a Marlin Giude gun, and it would be easyer to just make one load for both rifles. That way we don't get ammo mixed up, and little stuff like that.
I really don't feel the need for more power, and I don't want to place the gun under undue strain. But if I can shoot the same load I work up for his gun that would make thing easyer.
