I found some really good loads in a magazine 48 grns of TAC with .250 bullets for 2340 ( coronographed)out of my browning carbine. Now I can"t find any TAC powder without driving 100 miles. Any one know a good substitute ?

rl-15, varget, and 4895 should be ballpark.

I have the same issue, no TAC around.  I'm sticking with IMR 3031.

I like Varget for 308 case based cartridges.

But if you use TAC, then IMR 4895, Reloader 12, and H4895 should be very close to the same burn rates.  I'd not use the same weight of powder unless the manuals say it is safe.

It's worth the hunt, I drove over a 100 miles to get some. The TAC does far better than any powder I'v used in a .358. I get 2725 out of my browning blr carbine. Sure took the stufffing out of a  heavy buck I got last fall

Forgot, I used the same load and rifleyou use for .250's and have killed several bears with it, I got the loads out of the same mag. and I coronographed them. It gives my .358 some real thump, elk, wildboar, bear ect have all fallen to that load.
