Topic: Favorite Rifle Action Posted: 19 June 2003 at 06:29 |
Hey guys, what is your favorite rifle action, i figure i cant get in as much trouble by missing any going by action, and not by manufacturer.

i like right handed push feed long, short, and magnum length actions... hell, just gimme a remington (pick a rem, any rem- and no, the 710 is not a remington... it was mislabeled at the savage plant) and i'm happy.

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

I agree with dakotasin 100%. If I had to make a second choice, though, it would be a Ruger #1 Single shot. I love the feel of these rifles in my hands. Never felt undergunned without a quick follow-up shot either. Regards, Eagleye.

I've got an awful lot of rifles, but when I'm headed out to stomp my woods and watch the world go by, I always grab a '94 to keep me company.
Lever guns.

Have your musket clean as a whistle, hatchet scoured, sixty rounds powder and ball, and be ready to march at a minute's warning.

I have a lot of regular bolt actions, but after shooting those Swiss rifles for a couple years, I find the straight pull very fast, and a fascinating piece of machining. They are equal in strength to a 98 Mauser with a cooler bolt.

Hey Waksupi, I can only see two problems with the straight pull action. First, they cost 2384723947 dollars and second, they dont come in left hand variations. What i cant figure out, is how the hell do they keep the bolt from flying back and nailing you right in the face?

Have hunted all but the lever action. But have settled on 2 that I really like singles and pumps. I had looked for a Ruger #3 in 30-40 Krag for years before GunsAmerica. Then got mixed up with Browning singles. Recently purchased a
35 Whelen in a 7600 Remington but have yet to shot.
