made the guinness corned beef and cabbage posted on this thread for st. patrick's day 2010.

turned out very well. the slow, slow cooking helped to turn that tough briskt meat into something that was as tender as melted butter, almost.

here's how it looked:

Looks great Tas,,,our tastes seem to run along the same lines.Did that little spice pac give enough flavor??,,,I've seen  'em in the market and always wondered.............ya need more onions,,,LOTS MORE onions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the linked page mentioned soda bread,,,that is my next try,,,I have finally gotten my youngin' to give up nasty grocery bread for home baked,,,I usually do a nice dense whole wheat( that smells up the whole neighborhood) or WW with honey.My next adventure is a roll to replace hotdog buns,.......and man do I love pumpernickle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
