I don't keep track but I try to keep around 300 for each of my rifles. I have quite a bit more for handguns. For my .243 prairie dog gun, I have about 500. I buy 5000 once fired cases for my .45ACP at a time. I loose a lot of those shooting matches and because you really aren't supposed to pick up brass at the indoor range. But I do anyway. It depends on where they land. Wing master |

Well, can't give exact count right now like bear did but when I have brass stored I have it counted and a note in the container with info like: sized & then if passed thru check die, trimmed or not, if military primer crimp removed + total count.
Approximate counts off hand from memory: 204 Ruger 600+ .223/5.56 +/- 1k (mixed of both) 45-70 300 +/- .45 Colt 500+ .38Spl 200+ .357M 100+ 30M1 200+ 30-30/32Spl/.308W/100+ each 30-06 120 22-250 100+ 30-40 Krag 80 A few other calibers less used, of smaller quantities 100 or less |

My goal is to have 200pcs of brass for each rifle I have. Here is a guess
221FB 300-400 222-400 223-400 220-400 243-800+ 240Wby-400 257R-1000++ 25-06-500 6.5X55-300 260-250+ 270-1000 270Wby-500 7mm08-600 284-600 280-600 7RM-300 7WbyM-500 30-30-500 308-1000+ 3006-1000 300WinM-300 300Wby-800 300H&H-300 32Sp-200 8mmRM-300 338WM-100 35R-200 35Wh-300 358-300 44-1000+ 450M-250 357-1000+ 38sp-800 This is a rough estimate. I got looking around the other day and thought I might have a problem. Like a hoarder?? I have stopped reading the ads in the online classifieds for brass...it is addictive. This isn't counting the brass I have and no rifle for, 300Sav, 375HH. I'm not even gonna guess how many bullets I have...

Well, your house must be leaning to one side with that amount of brass, LOL.
You are well to have a good stock of brass for the 450 M; seems even Marlin is no longer selling rifles in it. But you have some voids in your line up...you need that 22TCM.

Bear, the other day I was looking for something in my reloading room and thought to myself, what am I going to do with all this brass? Then I remember how things were 8-10yrs ago and thought...meh, it don't eat nothing. I would have to replace several barrels before my brass was gone. I can't explain it, but it is a bit of an addiction. I don't check the ads very often on the online marketplaces, like a recovering alcoholic staying out of a bar...

As a senior primarily rifle shooter, generally I don't reload more than a 100 rounds before empting them again. so 100 cases for the 28 different shells I load would do.
But can't let free good once fired factory get thrown in the garbage. I keep thinking I should tumber 50 or so of each different size, put them in a plastic bag and take them to a gun show (might sell enough to pay for the table and gas/drive).
