Need some help.
I need some Hornady .348 bullet, FTX  200 gr,  box of 100.

Hornady made them but discontinued them a while back.  BUT, they are still on shelves.
I see them on internet stores, but they are at places/sellers that I'm not familiar with.  does anyone know a seller they trust that has them in stock???

I looked at my out of the way places that I usually find stuff that's hard to find and they were all sold out.

Precision Reloading
Blue collar reloading
Palmetto State Armory
Optics Planet

I didn't see them anywhere else either.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

Fella at Allegheny says Winny is planning a run of ammo but will be about 6 months and 70+ a box of 20. Boy did some checking around and found Hammer bullets in 348 at 62 a hundred but they are 147 grainers. Little info on them as they are new to the scene.

Barnes there is some copper but noticeably more then jacketed bullets. The hammers have Much less surface so little to no additional copper.
A Hammer may not be the bullet for soft white tail or at 80 yards but I bet on a hog they will be able to penetrant the 2" of dried mud an shoulder bone and Probably out the other shoulder bone. They do open up but never like a cup and core.

This was a 221g 8mm. Very proportional to the 329g .375

Un like Barnes the petals are supposed to brake off the Barnes don't normally

found some 348  Hornady FTX.  they have soft point for working in tubular magazines.  All rifles for 348 win have tubular magazines.

The hollow point of the Shock hammer would be resting on the primers in the mag.  I usually only load one in chamber and one in mag (who needs more that 2 shots?).  so, I do't think that is a problem.

I do like the 157 grains, should give me more velocity than the 200 and 250 gr.  Might be just the ticket for 300 yd antelope???

From there web sight
"This bullet was designed to run in the .348 Winchester and duplicate the velocities of the original 150g ammunition.  This 157g Shock Hammer will bring the high vel power back to the ‘ol lever action."
With a claim like that I bet there lawyers made them test it out before they put it up.

Trust me, they never talk to their lawyers first.  They think they are saving money!!!

but it does look like a good bullet...maybe for florida hogs???

Right now, coating front sight on M71 for better visibility, one coat white 3 coats sparkle brilliant glow orange.
